      Designed and developed to protect computersfrom malware like viruses, computer worms, spyware, botnets, rootkits, keyloggers and such.Antivirus programs function to scan, detect and remove viruses from your computer.

  AntiVirus software, or anti-virus software(abbreviated to AV software), also known as anti-malware, is a computer program used to prevent, detect, and remove malware.

Antivirus software was originally developed to detect and remove computer viruses, hence the name. However, with the proliferation of other kinds of malware, antivirus software started to provide protection from other computer threats. In particular, modern antivirus software can protect users from: malicious browser helper objects(BHOs), browser hijackers, ransomware, keyloggers, backdoors, rootkits, trojan horses, worms, malicious LSPs, dialers, fraudtools, adwareand spyware.^[1] Some products also include protection from other computer threats, such as infected and malicious URLs, spam, scam and phishing attacks, online identity (privacy), online banking attacks, social engineering techniques, advanced persistent threat (APT) and botnet DDoSattacks.

   Scan your system for a variety of ways

This is because the program needs to get to know your system. Once it has created its own general state database, future scans will run more smoothly.

The first and most basic scan function is the traditional quick scan. Quick scan scans the surface of your system to find immediate security holes etc. However, it does not go into depth, but it is the fastest way through a scan. So if you are busy or just want to scan your system quickly, this is the good choice.

     The status of your antivirus software is typically displayed in Windows Security Center.

1. Open Security Center by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Security, and then clicking Security Center.
2. Click Malware protection.                           -
